Accreditation of Training
PDM has undertaken extensive work mapping client's courses to nationally accredited qualifications. This has included the design of a new BTEC Advanced Diploma in Training and Operational Management developed specifically for middle managers in the uniformed services. PDM is providing technical advice on accreditation of training to a DTR bidder.
Advice on Simulators/Emulators and Part Task Trainers
PDM routinely analyses and assesses the capability, performance and cost-effectiveness of a wide range of simulation hardware and software and is able to advise business on the suitability of an application to meet a capability requirement.
Design and Development of Integrated Training Strategies
PDM is able to take a strategic view of training needs to ensure they are consistent and fully integrated within the overall product or service capability. Our integrated strategies provide our clients with the framework within which specific work such as TNA and training design is carried out.
Development of CBT and On-Line Training
E-learning is becoming an increasing requirement for some clients, particularly the MOD. PDM works with its partners to identify systems that are appropriate to the target audience and always with a view to ease of use and cost. PDM is making extensive use of CBT on the C Vehicles PFI project.
Development of Training Processes
PDM makes extensive use of business process flowcharts to quality assure its own services. It utilises this expertise to design training processes for clients who have larger volume training requirements and where standardisation is crucial.
Private Finance Initiatives (PFI) Training Solutions
PDM is the training sub-contractor providing the TNA, training design, delivery and validation services for the C Vehicles PFI programme being delivered by the Amey Lex Consortia. PDM will provide realistic, deliverable and innovative training solutions that will meet client needs.
Training Audits
PDM is able to carry out analyses of the effectiveness of existing training provision and make recommendations for improvement to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness. PDM utilises its own PDMExcel suite of tools to assess training programmes against client needs.
Training Design, Delivery and Validation
PDM prides itself on its ability to be a single source provider of the complete range of training activities that, together, form the basis of the Armed Forces Systems Approach to Training (SAT). PDM is providing this total service to the C Vehicles PFI programme. The programme incorporates the provision of initial and conversion training for both military operators and maintainers on the Army's future fleet of wheeled and tracked Plant and ECP. The programme will incorporate on-road and off-road driving and operating training for both users and training staff. PDM TS is also providing a complete training design process for a DTR bid consortium.
Training Implementation Plans
PDM is able to provide clients with rigorously developed, robust and realistic Training Implementation Plans that support Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) plans to support public and private sector contract bids. The plans incorporate details of all TNA, training development and training material methodologies including approvals and process review procedures. PDM produced a Training Implementation Plan for the FALCON communication systems project and for the Armed Forces Resettlement Service project.
Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
PDM is able to undertake the now mandatory TNAs for all equipment acquisition projects. This includes the completion of strategic and equipment-specific TNAs that, where appropriate, are fully compliant with the requirements of JSP 502 (The Tri-Service Guide to TNA). PDM is providing this service in support of the C Vehicles PFI programme, ASTUTE Submarine External Communications System and the Future Rapid Effects System (FRES) programme. |
